The Vocational Skills Training Program aims at addressing the challenge of high rates of unemployment due to lack of employable skills among the youth in the greater Kibaale District and Country at large.

EDF supports training of young persons (unemployed youth and school dropouts) in vocational skills (Welding and metal fabrication; motorcycle mechanics/repair; fashion and design; and carpentry and joinery, etc) to enhance employable skills and self-reliance.

EDF has established partnership with accredited Vocational Training Institutes to provide a link for registration, assessment and certification of trainees by the Directorate of industrial training (DIT), Ministry of Education and Sports.

EDF Identifies and supports highly trained and industrious Master Craft Persons (MCPs) to conduct training of the youth in the various courses.
